W02 Insight Sharing – REL 211 One principle that stood out to me during my study of the New Testament this week is the teaching that disciples of Jesus Christ should be a light to others. In Matthew 5:14–16 , Jesus teaches that His followers are “the light of the world” and that a light should not be hidden but placed where it can shine and give light to everyone in the house. This teaching reminds me that our actions and the way we live our lives can influence the people around us. Whether we realize it or not, others observe how we behave, how we treat people, and how we respond to challenges. Because of this, being a disciple of Christ includes the responsibility of reflecting His example in our daily lives. I believe this teaching is important because many people come to understand the gospel not only through words but also through the example of others.
